ALET welcomes education professionals whose primary focus is technology in the K-12 environment. Those who benefit the most from membership will be those who work at the system level and those who support EdTech on a school-wide level. Please note that vendors may not become ALET members, but are encouraged to become ALET Sponsors.
ALET offers three membership levels – Basic, Premier, and Platinum Premier. The Premier Membership option is designed to offer you the most professional development, while saving you money and time. With just one purchase order per year you gain access to all ALET standard events. Our new Platinum Premier offering makes things even easier. It includes a 3-night stay (Sunday – Tuesday) at the Perdido Beach Resort for the Fall ALET Conference. Premier/Platinum Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be a delegate member (tech director) in order purchase the Premier membership? No.
Are Premier Memberships transferable? Yes. Premier Memberships belong to the school/system. If a Premier member leaves employment or changes roles, the technology director can request that the remaining benefits of the Premier Membership be transferred to a different employee.
Must all members of a system choose the same membership type? No. Each person can use the best plan for them.
What if I’ve already paid for my Basic or Premier 2020 membership? If you’ve already paid, simply apply again and choose the upgrade price that applies.
If I choose Premier Member, will I still have to register for events? Yes, just so we can do your name badge. You will choose the $0 Premier Member option that will be presented.
If I don’t choose Premier, will I still be able to register for Fall and other events? Absolutely, but Premier members will be able to register first.
Premier/Platinum Cancellation Policy
- No refunds or credits will be given for Winter or Summer conference registration
- Premier members who cannot attend fall can apply for a refund or credit of $125
- Platinum Premier members who cannot attend fall can apply for a refund or credit of $125 for the registration portion. If the hotel room can be re-booked by another member, then a $540 refund or credit will also be given upon request.
Membership Categories
Delegate Membership. Individuals serving as the District Technology Coordinator (or equivalent) shall represent an Alabama public school system. Delegate members are voting members of the organization. Delegate Members are eligible to hold office and represent a region on the ALET Board.
Technology Leadership Team Membership. Individuals who are employees of public or private school systems (PK-12) who wish to promote the mission of the ALET organization. Technology Leadership Team Members may hold office or represent a region only if they had previously done so. (Example: An individual had once been a Delegate member, was elected and served as a Board member and/or Officer, but is now categorized as a Leadership Team Member.)
Associate Membership. Individuals who are employees of colleges or universities, non-profit groups, public libraries, or other educational entities who wish to promote the mission of the ALET organization.
Honorary Membership. Past Delegate or Tech Leadership Team members who have retired from the educational system may obtain Honorary Membership. Honorary members are not required to pay dues. Honorary membership is not automatic and must be approved by the ALET Executive Committee.
Use of Membership Funds and Schedule
All annual membership dues shall be used solely for supporting the nonprofit objectives of the organization. For questions about dues, please email info@go-alet.org.
