Our purpose is to empower Alabama K-12 technology leaders.

Our goal is to increase leadership capacity.

As an organization we: 

• Identify the essential skills of education technology leaders and provide leadership development.
• Explore global trends, emerging technologies and innovative practices that enable the transformation of education.
• Create and disseminate information, tools and resources for education technology leaders.
•  Anticipate changing conditions and evolving member needs.

For K-12 education technology leaders, earning the CETL^® certification will demonstrate to your staff, superintendent, and other stakeholders that you have mastered the knowledge and skills needed to define the vision for and successfully build 21^st century learning environments in your school district. Join CoSN/CALL

A CoSN Institutional Membership is designed for school districts, individual schools, state departments of education, colleges & universities, or non-profit organizations. You will select a primary contact and secondary contacts to represent your organization.  The CoSN Alabama Leaders (CALL) group will use your primary and secondary CoSN contacts for our Alabama Chapter email distribution list.  See the front of the membership form for information concerning dues.

Alabama’s CoSN/CALL Team

Donna Williamson, CoSN Board Member

In the summer of 1982, Donna Williamson was one of the first six technology coordinators hired in the state of Alabama and has been active in the field since that time. Donna served as the technology coordinator for Midfield City Schools from 1982-1994 and has been the CTO for Mountain Brook Schools since 1994. She is a long-standing member of the Alabama Leaders in Educational Technology, has served on numerous committees at the state level, has worked on multiple committees to write and revise both state and local technology plans and technology skills curriculums.

Joani Kay, CALL Membership Chair and CALL-ALET Liason 

Joani began teaching in Ruston Louisiana in the Business Education and Computer Science departments. She has enjoyed teaching Accounting, Computer Literacy, and Computer Science classes at Ruston High School, Briarwood High School, and Hoover High School. After teaching for several years she became the School Technology Coordinator at Hoover High School. In 2005 Joani became the School Technology Coordinator at Mountain Brook Junior High and began at Mountain Brook High School in July 2009. She enjoys learning about new technology resources, finding the best resources, and sharing the resources with students and teachers.

Suzan Brandt, CoSN EdCamp Coordinator

Suzan began her career with Mountain Brook Schools in 2009 as the Technology Coordinator for Mountain Brook Junior High School. Prior to 2009, she was employed with Hoover City Schools in 1994 and was an Instructional Technology Specialist since 2000. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University, a Masters in Special Education from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she completed coursework for her Educational Leadership certificate. She holds an Ed.S. from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the area of Educational Technology. Suzan has taught Language Arts, Math, and Computer Applications. She has presented at several conferences including the Gulf Coast Writing Project, The Samford University Writing Project, The Alabama Council Teachers of English Conference, and the Alabama Educational Technology Conference.
